Medicaid Updates
There are tons of changes coming down the pike. Are you ready? Effective August 31, 2008 Anthem Partnership will no longer be partnering with Medicaid. You may want to make an extra effort to get new Medicaid information from your Anthem Partnership patients. Also, some of the mental health contractors are changing so please check with the payer to see who will be processing the claims. Effective September 1, 2008, Molina will now manage its behavioral health services and credentialing. UC Healthpartners preauthorizations will be honored through the end of 2008.
The new Medicaid Provider Portal is proving to be extremely useful to Central Ohio Practice Management. You can verify eligibility, submit claims, print remittance advices, search archived remittances and more.
Eligibility can be checked by 24 months and it lists every Medicaid contractor the patient has been with in that time frame. WOW! Plus, it lists Medicare start and end, if applicable, and it will even give you commercial payer information. It's the best online provider portal ever.
